New additions to Great War Miniatures Russians and Swedish

Although no pictures appeared on the North Star site yet, there are some more packs of Russians and Swedes of the Potemkin War range.
Line infantry in attacking poses for both countries are available together with command, for the Russians followed by Leib grenadiers and infantry in summer uniform.

Reiver castings new french revolutionary figures

Very quietly Reiver Castings brought out some new packs for the French Revolution.
There are four additions to the British 1792-1800 range and 2 packs of Vendean troops.
Pictures are on the Reiver Casting website and underneath starting with 2 packs of British artillery (foot and horse)

followed by the cavalry which has the troopers plus a pack of horse command

and at last two packs of Vendean troops; the first with muskets, the second with pitchforcks

All these figures looks nice and are welcome editions to the  Revolutionary range. Haven't seen them in the flesh yet but at leat the British will appear on the table someday.
Hopefully more additions will follow.
Suggestions (hint, hint) are of course artillery in round hats, licht cavalry, more active poses for the ligth infantry etc etc

Small step for mankind, big one for me

Maybe a strange title, but underneath is the first (although small) unit of French Revolutionary figures I have finished; and even a Dutch one.
May I present to you; in 28mm: the Löwenstein-Wertheim jäger unit; from 1794 part of the Dutch army.

Pictures of the Dutch Military museum give the following info:

The "Jassenboekje" gives the following uniform and the grey with green facings I have followed in my painted models. The officers had an orange sash in honour of the ruling house of Orange.

According to Gouvel,; Les Corps de troupe de l'emigration Francaise, they had a grey coat with green facing but mention a hat with one side (the left) up, a kind of Corsenhut which more emigré units had. I liked the helmet which show their Bavarian heritage as the helmet is the same as the Rumford helmet, the Bavarians wore at this time.

Figures

Just a small remark: on the seperate "Figures" page, I have started with information about figures and manufacturers of FR Figures.

If you have any additions, remarks etc, please let me know.

Thanks
Jan

Trent Irish

Trent has added an Irish mounted leader.
In total there are now 5 packs/individuals in the Irish range by Trent

Revolutionary books- series Les Batailles Oubliées

Mont-St Jean 6-7 juillet 1794
A new (the fifth) revolutionary book in the series Les Batailles Oublies by Historic'one Editions just appeared.
A battle which took place at the same region where almost 21 years later the battle of Waterloo was fought.
As the other four, this book is also in French but although my French isn't my strongest language I will manage to wade through. What I have seen up to now of the content I like it.

For some who like the Egyptian campaign of 1799/1800, there are two books of earlier date about this campaign.

Books

I have added a new page regarding books about the French Revolutionary period.
Will add all the books I know about this period.

Swedish and Russian figures for the Revolutionary period

Great War Miniatures ave released some figures for the Russo-Swedish War  of 1788-1790. Although up to now only a small batch; consisiting of 3 packs of Russian Infantry (command-infantry-grenadiers) in their impressive Potemkin uniform and 2 packs of Swedish troops (command-infantry) in their top hats, it would be great if this range was expanded.
The Russians are alos usable for the Russo -Turkish war of the same period were also Austrian troops could be used.
Some pictures of the range from the Nort Star site:

Alde garde and Ca-Ira

As you maybe know, our "the Aldegarde website" was hacked and almost all information damaged.

We are now rebuilding the site and add some more information (we are busy with information about the 1792-1795 and 1795-1806 -batavian republic period) but this will need some time.

Please take a look at the new site  www.aldegarde.nl  (you notice that you will be redirected to  weebly ).

We also will put under the section Wargaming of the Alde Garde site, some older information of the Ca-Ira blog and will use Ca-ira only to publish new info.
In some weeks you will see the result.
Also seperate pages of this blog will give info about books and figures of the French Revolution period.

We will gladly give more info about the site and its content so please let me know
